Seriously, being “eco-friendly” is not just a trend, it’s like, a must-do already. And when it comes to your office or shop front, you also got to play your part. So, how to make your commercial landscaping more “green”? Let’s see, shall we?

Water-Wise, Steady!

First things first, water. Singapore hot, you know? So, don’t waste water! Use drought-tolerant plants, those that don’t need so much water. Install drip irrigation, those ones that give water slowly, not like a big shower. And if you got space, collect rainwater, can use for watering also. Don’t waste, okay?

Native Plants are the best!

Use local plants, those ones that grow naturally in Singapore. They’re already used to the weather, so they don’t need so much care. Plus, they support local wildlife, like birds and butterflies. It’s like eating local food, healthier and better for everyone!

Less Chemical, More Natural!

Don’t anyhow use pesticides and fertilizers, okay? They’re bad for the environment. Instead, use natural compost, those things made from food scraps and leaves. It’s like giving your plants vitamins, natural and healthy! And if got pests, try using natural pest control, like ladybugs or neem oil. Don’t kill everything with chemicals, can?

Green Roofs and Walls, Super Cool!

If you got flat roof, put a green roof! Or if you got big wall, put a vertical garden! They look super cool, and they help to cool down the building, save energy also. Plus, they absorb rainwater and improve air quality. It’s like having a mini forest on your building!

Recycle and Reuse, Don’t Waste!

Use recycled materials for your landscaping, like recycled wood or plastic. And when you prune your plants, don’t throw away the branches and leaves, use them for compost. It’s like making treasure from trash! Being sustainable is not so difficult, right? Just need to be smart and think “green”. Your customers and employees will appreciate it, and you’ll be helping the environment also.
